Dr. Paula L. Russo is an Endodontist dedicated full time to private practice in Washington D.C. She is a graduate of Catholic University of America and received her dental degree from Georgetown University. Dr. Russo completed a Master's Degree in Oral Biology and a Certificate in Endodontics from Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland. She has achieved the distinction and honor of being certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. |
Dr. Russo has been involved
in the clinical teaching of endodontics at the University of Maryland as an
assistant clinical instructor and at Georgetown Dental School as an assistant
clinical professor. She has served as a consultant to the National Institute
of Health, the National Public Health Service, and the Endodontic Department
at Bethesda Naval Dental School.
Dr. Russo has been recognized for outstanding leadership and exceptional contributions
to dentistry. In 2008, she was inducted into American College of Dentistry,
and in 2007, she was welcomed into fellowship of the International College
of Dentists. Furthermore, during 2006 she was inducted into the prestigious
Pierre Fauchard Academy, an international dental honor organization. In 2008,
the District of Columbia Dental Society presented Dr. Russo with the Committee
Member of the Year Award in recognition of her dedication and service.
This year, Dr. Russo will serve as President of the Penick Endodontic Study
Club, the premier endodontic study club in the Greater Washington area. She
is also an active member of the American Dental Association, the American
Association of Endodontists, and the Georgetown University School of Dentistry
Alumni Board. She is a member of the Professional Conduct and Ethics Committee
for the American Association of Endodontists, and she serves on the Advisory
Board and the Board of Directors of the District of Columbia Dental Society.
She is also a mentor in the American College of Diplomates, an affiliate of
the American Board of Endodontics.
Dr. Russo has served as
the Secretary/Trustee of the AAE Research and Education Foundation and represented
the Foundation on the AAE Task Force for Recruitment & Retention of Endodontic
Educators. In addition, she is Past President of the Greater Washington Academy
of Women Dentists.
Her charity work includes serving on several professional Foundation boards:
the D.C. Dental Society Foundation as well as eight years on the AAE Foundation
Board with 6 years of service as an executive officer. Dr. Russo participates
in community service through her volunteer work and fund raising for the dental
clinic at the Spanish Catholic Center in Washington D.C.
Washingtonian magazine has honored the best dentists in the Washington area
four times: 1997, 2003, 2006, and 2009.
This list is comprised of those dentists who have received the most recommendations
for their specialty from their dental colleagues.
Dr. Russo has been included in all four years of the Washingtonian "Top
Dentist" referral list.
